ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

Attendance in school

A key whole school focus is ATTENDANCE here at Etching Hill.  We want to encourage all of our pupils to have fantastic attendance because we believe that this is hugely important to every child.

Every week, we publish class attendance levels for the previous week on our website to enable us to celebrate fantastic attendance.  We also reward positive individual attendance throughout the school year including a very special treat for those children who achieve 100% attendance for the entire year.

Arriving in school ON TIME

GATES OPEN—the gates open at 08.45.  The reason that we do not open the gates earlier is because we have no provision for looking after children until 08.45. (We do however have a wonderful Breakfast Club should you need to leave your child earlier than 08.45)

LEARNING BEGINS—The children’s school day begins at 08.50.  It is very disruptive to arrive after this point as the day has already started.  Sometimes this makes a late child feel disorientated as they try to join a lesson which has already begun, or it can mean that the rest of the class have to listen again to information that has already been given.

We want ALL children to get the best out of every second at school and appreciate your help in achieving this.  Please help us to give our pupils the best possible start to their day, arriving on time with their peers, focused for a full day of learning.
